Paddling for the Planet

Making a Splash May 20-22nd, 2023

Cody and Megan’s next fundraiser, Plant, Paddle and Pulverise for the Planet is a three-part fundraiser!

Phase one was a smashing success, when we pulverised pumpkins after Halloween at the xwesam / Roberts Creek Fire Hall, raising just over $700 dollars.

Phase two got 1000 trees planted with seedlings donated by the Sunshine Coast Community Forest Association.

Phase three is going to have us making a splash on the Victoria Day longweekend! Cody and I will be paddling a kayak around the coastline.

Hi Everyone!

Cody and I are back at it again. In 2021 when we started the Climb for Climate Change challenge, we walked 115 kilometers from Gibsons to Powell River and managed to raise over $30,000 total for the SPCA (Sechelt Branch) and the BC Sustainable Energy Association.

Since then we keep coming up with physical challenges to inspire and bring awareness to environmental causes in our community on the Sunshine Coast. Check out our past activities and don’t forget to donate to our latest cause.

Meet Our Causes

This is our 3rd year of fundraising for non-profit organizations on the Sunshine Coast.  Through grants and generous donations by you (our supporters), we have managed to raise around $80,000.00 to support local and BC-wide organizations.

This year we are supporting the Loon Foundation in Madeira Park.  The funds will be used for solar panels to help decrease their operating costs and so they can be “greener” on the Sunshine Coast.  Thanks again for all your support!

Saturday May 20th

Cody and I will be in Madeira Park and participating in the Pender Harbour May Day Parade starting at 11am, then Kayaking from 12:30-3:30pm.  We will launch from Welbourn Cove and paddle over to Irvines Landing then stopping at all the coves on the northern side of Pender Harbour: Duncan Cove to John Henry’s to Garden Bay and back to Welbourn Cove.

Sunday May 21st

We will be kayaking from 12:30-3:00 along Davis Bay from Calvary roughly to Mission Point and back and forth.

Monday May 22nd

9:30-12:00  We will be starting and ending in Gibsons. Paddling from Winegarden over to Keats around the Shelter Islets down to Armours beach and back to Winegarden (we might do this route a couple of times).

At each of our landing locations, we hope to have Ocean Ambassadors available to hand out information.  Look for our banner with our logo  on dry land and from there look for us in the water!

Raising $20,000 to install solar panels for the Loon Foundation to help decrease their operating costs and so they can be “greener” on the Sunshine Coast.
